Alan Gelati was born in Milan, where he attended Giovanni Chiaramonte’s classes at the ‘Civica Scuola di Fotografia’ and a course of aesthetic and Art history in Brera.
He moved to London in 1998 and began to work as a photographer for Christie’s where he improved his photographic technique studying paintings, sculptures, antiquities and interiors, whilst attending art history classes.

He took part in Fishlove in 2009, an exhibition to raise awareness of the unsustainable fishing practices that are destroying the earth’s marine ecosystem.
